THE
SAMADHI STHAL OF MAHARAJJI |
|
|
| |
|
|
Explanation:
Mukti (salvation) cries in the lanes of Vrindavan asking Lord Krishna
to free her and tell her the path to salvation. Lord Krishna says,
"Stay in the lanes of this land (Vrindavan) where saints keep
coming and going.
When the sand of Braj (the land where Lord Krishna performed his
acts) will touch your forehead, you will be freed from all" |
Many
saints have come to Vrindavan and left their physical body here.
This
holy land attracted Maharajji too during his last days
and just before his death he came to Vrindavan from Kainchi.
Maharajji was very close to nature and so he chose this place
which abounds
in natural treasures like peacocks, cows, cuckoos, monkeys and
the river Yamuna. He decided to leave for the heavenly abode
on the land which has been the playground of Lord Krishna. By
doing so he achieved the highest degree of happiness and has
been delivering the same happiness to his devotees ever since.

The
construction of the Vrindavan Ashram was still in progress when
on 11th September 1973 Maharajji came to Vrindavan from Kainchi
and left his body by his choice on this day (Shukla Paksha Chaturdashi
in the month of Bhadrapada). The photograph alongside shows the
Samadhi Sthal (the place where the funeral
of great saints takes place who leave this world by will) of
Maharajji and the temple that has been constructed at the spot.
The Samadhi Sthal of a saint is a very special
place
for
his
devotees. The Samadhi darshan of Maharajji can be had by visiting
this temple at the Vrindavan Ashram.

Maharajji’s
last rites were performed as per Hindu rituals by his son. The
place where his funeral pyre was lit is the site where the Mahasamadhi
Mandir of Neeb Karori Baba exists. This is a sacred place and the
journey to Maharajji cannot be complete without visiting and paying
obesience to Maharajji at the Mahasamadhi Mandir. It is the 'Samadhi
Sthal' of a saint which is the most sacred of all places associated
with him. This
is considered the Gurusthan. This is evident from the way the
fact followers flock in great numbers
and receive
the
grace
of
Maharajji
after paying obesience at the Mahasamadhi Temple. Everyone and
anyone who comes with a wish it is fulfilled. In
the state of Samadhi, Maharajji's darshan is providing grace to innumerable
devotees all over the world. |
